Avery Burdette - Yamaha

Did you see our vintage synth tour over at the Yamaha booth? No? Well watch it, right now!.

In amongst the massive Yamaha booth that was almost like a mini tradeshow in its own right over at the Marriott Hotel, was the Yamaha vintage synth exhibit - did you know its been 40 years of Yamaha synthesizers? Well it is - this year.

For our tour of these venerable old ladies (actually, they are younger than me, but synth years have to be at least 4 to 1 IMHO), we had the pleasure of talking Yamaha employee of 28 years and Music Production Product Manager Avery Burdette who took us through the line up of SY2, CS-15, CS-30 and CS-80 (cue intake of breath as he lifts the lid), GS-1, DX-1, DX-7 Centennial, VL-1 and VL-3 taking time to explain the concept of the synth engines behind some of these classics.

Hats off to you Mr Burdette, take a bow and a pay rise.
