M-Patch 4M Lets You Talk Back

SM Pro Audio has announced the arrival of its new M-Patch 4M monitor controller, which combines precision attenuation and advanced audio source/destination switching with talkback capabilities--a first for the MPatch product group. Here's what SM Pro Audio has to say about it...
For busy studios, the M-Patch 4M delivers an ideal all-in-one solution, providing a central hub for monitor control with mute, mixing, level-matching, headphone monitoring, stereo-to-mono summing, and talkback. Control room outputs are automatically ducked 20dB when talkback is engaged; you can use the built-in microphone or plug in your own and control it from the front panel or via a remote switch.
Like its sister MPatch 2.1 and MPatch 5.1, the M-Patch 4M's master attenuator features a custom-engineered discrete stepped film-resistor network, for exceptional accuracy at all volume levels. The M-Patch 4M offers both balanced and unbalanced inputs and outputs, including XLR, 1/4" and 1/8" TRS, and RCA; it can be used as either a desktop unit, or rack-mounted with the included hardware.
Craig Anderton summed up the MPatch 4M masterfully, "[The] M-Patch 4M from SM Pro Audio is one of those Swiss Army Knife units designed for controlling and switching monitoring, headphone outputs, master levels, and the like...basically, it's intended to provide the controls you won't find in your DAW."
