Denon DJ has announced the PRIME 4 G2, a 4-channel, 4-deck standalone system that builds on the original PRIME 4 with a significant spec bump. One of the main addition are the MPCe multi-zone performance pad array: 16 velocity- and pressure-sensitive pads that use 3D-sensing technology to combine Hot Cues, Stems, Rolls, FX and lighting control into a single pad. Denon says this quadruples the triggering options available to the performer.
The G2 also gets a substantial processing upgrade - an 8-core ARM CPU and 4GB of RAM, which Denon says delivers four times the processing power of the previous generation. That should make onboard stems rendering and library navigation considerably snappier. The jog wheels are now full-size 8-inch units with LED displays, and the touchscreen remains a 10.1-inch HD panel.
Tech from the MPC G2 is definitely trickling down.
Key features include:
The PRIME 4 G2 is aimed at mobile and event DJs who want a complete setup without a laptop. The built-in lighting control is a useful addition assuming the DMX interface is decent,- previously that required an external SoundSwitch box or software, so having DMX on board plus pad triggering for lights makes it a practical all-in-one for weddings and corporate gigs.
PRIME 4 G2 is available from September 1, 2026 at $2,599 USD, €2,699.99 or £2,299.99.
