Korg has announced the winners of its Micromadness Global Video Contest. Earlier this year, in honor of the 10th birthday of its best-selling MicroKorg analog modeling synth, Korg invited consumers to participate in the special contest by sharing a video about what the MicroKorg or MicroKorg XL means to them.
A panel of international Korg judges scored each entry on its fun factor, entertainment value, creativity and originality. Four winners from around the globe were announced by guest judges Alex Suarez and Ryland Blackinton from chart-topping, dance-punk band Cobra Starship. Each winner was awarded with serial no. 1 of a new Korg Micro product; their entry video appears on Korg's website and social network pages as well. The prizes consisted of:
  • First place: red/black MicroKorg XL+
  • Second place: all-black MicroKorg XL+
  • Third place: black/red MicroKorg
  • Fourth place: all-black MicroKorg
The new Full Black MicroKorg and MicroKorg XL+ models sport a black panel and black finish on both the natural and sharp keys. The Black & Red models feature a black and red panel with black naturals and red sharps. More information:
