Garritan’s latest collection takes off from the wonderfully received Garritan Personal Orchestra. Jazz & Big Band features the same meticulous instrument construction and attention to detail that made t GPO such a success. Based on the Kontact Sampler engine each instrument has been individually programmed to give the most playable and authentic sound.

This new collection features over 50 individual instruments including:
• 16 saxes
• 5 trumpets (with various mutes)
• 5 trombones
• 3 drum kots
• guitars
• jazz piano
• woodwinds
• electric and acoustic basses
• vibraphone
• Latin percussion

We first got a taste of the Jazz & Big Band Collection at Summer NAMM in Indianapolis, where the giggly Garritan crew were a joy to behold (long lunch perhaps;-). In a rare, behind the scenes interview, we got the opportunity to talk in some depth with Garritans chief programmer and brass player Tom Hopkins about the creation of the libraries.
