NerdSEQ Eurorack Tracker Sequencer Updated

US Firmware V2.0 released alongside a Multi-IO Expander      18/12/23

XOR Electronics tells us that they have released the new Firmware V2.0 and the Multi-IO Expander for the NerdSEQ Eurorack Tracker sequencer. Here's the story in their own words...

It's been more than 6 years since the NerdSEQ has been released to the public and since then they were frequently free Firmware updates (as in every few months) which added already tons of new features based on my own ideas and many user feature requests. Continuing with that I am proud to present you another massive free update squeezing even more out of the NerdSEQ hardware!! The NerdSEQ was already the most feature-rich Eurorack sequencer but this update does bring it again to another level.

Beside the new main features like an advanced scaling screen, an complete Midi re-write which supports now 3 independent Midi Ports (with the Multi-IO Expander), tons of mini features the main star of the update is the new mapping screen which is not only a feature, but is so flexible that it can be used to create your own features yourself. So the amount of new features can't really be counted.

The update is as usual free and can be downloaded on the XOR Electronics website or on the forum.

See the release notes for V2.0 in this link with all release notes since the begin.

Next to the firmware release I released also the new Midi-Expander for the NerdSEQ which adds the following ports and functionality to the NerdSEQ:

  • USB Host -> Connect any Midi Class Compliant gear like a Launchpad (with full integration), Midi Keyboard/Controller etc
  • USB Device -> Connect to your Computer and get a new XOR Midi Device for direct Computer NerdSEQ Midi communication
  • TRS-A Midi -> Classic Midi connection using a stereo jack cable (adapters for DIN Midi Connectors included)
  • 2x I2C Ports -> Each can be either leader or follower. Connect your I2C capable module (like 16n, ER301, distingEX, Just Friends and others) and get access to 100 virtual patch-cables. Both ports are located on the backside of the module but one port is also additionally located on the front (to connect an external 16n faderbox for example).
  • Additional Buttons and an encoder Knob -> New edit modes, dial in notes and more...

The Multi-IO Expander is available in the usual 3 colors from the XOR Webshop and the distributors.
