Paying a mastering engineer is a luxury for many bedroom producers, but essential to anyone making music professionally. But does the cost of mastering affect the quality of the result? In this video, Hardcore Sound Studio investigates, paying 5 mastering engineers to work on his track, with no direction or instructions given. One of the masters was from fiver, for $20 - going up to Metropolis and Abbey Road for $130.
