Here's an interesting instrument made using an Axoloti DSP board, some contact mics and a selection of springs. It's creates a unique sound and is ripe for customization, being a DIY project. The Axoloti is a DSP board which can be programmed just like a Nord Modular, using an intuitive software editor in which you patch virtual cables between modules. It's totally hackable, so you can write your own virtual modules and you can solder knobs, buttons and more to it, or just connect a standard MIDI controller. The Axoloti board features DIN MIDI in & out, USB MIDI in & out, a USB host port, stereo audio in & out, headphone audio out and more!
