Antares say that, in the years since its introduction, Auto-Tune has literally revolutionized the process of vocal production. And now, with their new Auto-Tune for Guitar, they are doing the same for guitar. A PR person told us, "Incorporating our world-renowned Auto-Tune pitch detection and manipulation along with our proprietary modeling technologies, Auto-Tune for Guitar is an entirely DSP-based suite of functions that offer everything you've always wanted from a guitar, along with capabilities you never imagined possible. From flawless intonation to astonishing tonal flexibility to alternate tunings that open up entirely new areas of inspiration and creativity, Auto-Tune for Guitar technology seriously expands the flexibility and range of the electric guitar while letting you continue to play your own way."
Now at NAMM, the first guitars incorporating Auto-Tune for Guitar technology have been announced by Peavey and Parker. Here's the details about each directly from Antares:
Peavey Electronics
With Peavey's new AT-200, guitar players can now create music in perfect tune and pitch, at a breakthrough price. The Peavey AT-200 utilizes Auto-Tune for Guitar to work behind the scenes to bring the clarity of perfect pitch and intonation to a quality instrument in an unobtrusive manner. No complicated hardware system interferes with the playing experience - the Peavey AT-200 looks, plays and sounds just like a conventional guitar, exactly the way it should.
The Peavey AT-200 is also the gateway to a growing collection of powerful new Auto-Tune for Guitar features. With its built-in software upgrade capability, new features from Antares can be easily loaded into the AT-200 and controlled by any MIDI source, from MIDI foot switch controllers to iPad or iPhone devices running dedicated Auto-Tune control software.
Parker Guitars
The new Parker Auto-Tune MaxxFly, combines everything that makes a Parker guitar unique with all of the power of Auto-Tune for Guitar. Instant string tuning, Solid-Tune Intonation, an extensive selection of guitar and pickup models, a wide variety of popular (as well as unique) alternate tunings, and a virtual capo that provides a full two-octave range make the Parker Auto-Tune MaxxFly one of the world's most advanced guitars. Parker guitars combine organic and man-made materials to create a uniquely musical guitar that performs as no other can. Ken Parker's understanding of hardwoods and the physical forces involved in guitar playing has been combined with exhaustive research on modern composites, fibers, and acoustic technology to create a new kind of instrument altogether. A guitar with the magic soulfulness of wood, optimized to respond unlike any other guitar in the world to the vibrations of steel, bronze, or nylon strings. Pricing and Availability:
