Rupert Neve Design's is proud to announce that the 5015 Mic Pre/ Compressor and the 5088 Fully Discrete Analogue Mixer have been nominated as finalists in the 2008 TEC awards for Outstanding Technical Achievement.
Nominated in the category of Microphone Preamplifier Technology, the company says that the Portico 5015 combines the rich detailed performance of the Portico Series mic pre with the sweet musical response of its compressor-limiter. Built around Rupert's custom transformer designs, with features like "Silk", "Feed-Forward/Feed-Back" modes, stereo link and dual mono/single channel operation (preamp and compressor), the 5015 has unparalleled power and flexibility.
Crafted from the ground up to incorporate Rupert Neve's custom input and output transformers, 90V rails, and discrete, class A circuitry throughout, the 5088 is nominated in the field of Large Format Console Technology. Rupert Neve Designs say that, with a completely modular design and the sweet musical quality expected from Mr. Neve, the 5088 represents a significant advance in the performance and philosophy of audio processing.
Held on October 4th in San Francisco, concurrent with the fall AES Convention, the TEC awards ceremony is the most respected event recognizing technical achievement in audio. This year's nominations for Rupert Neve Designs come after winning the 2006 TEC award for Signal Processing Technology with the Portico 5042 "True Tape" FX.
