In a couple of weeks in New York’s Jacob Javits Convention Center, audio professionals from around the world will be gathering for the 123rd Convention of the Audio Engineering Society, and Sonic Studio tell us that they will be there, sharing a booth with the folks from Legendary Audio. Sonic Studio will be launching new products, demonstrating current wares, and providing a glimpse at future technologies of note.
The company will stage the first public showing of several new items. A brief look at the convention highlights include:
  • the release of PreMaster CD version 2.0.2
  • the announcement of soundBlade 1.2.1
  • the introduction of StudioCare
  • the introduction of soundBlade packages
  • the announcement of a new, exclusive plug–in partner
  • ongoing demonstrations of new & current products including UB versions of software, Series 300 DSP I/O Processors including the new Model 305, and the nexStage DSD line of post–production tools
  • technology demonstrations of partner hardware & software products
New product releases for Sonic Studio at the show will include an updated version of both of their PCM products. PreMaster CD version 2.0.2 represents a maintenance release with significantly improve stability and added new features. The UB version of PreMaster CD will also be demonstrated. soundBlade version 1.2.1 will be announced at the show, with hundreds of stability improvements for better operation. Also, soundBlade is one year old and, to celebrate, Sonic Studio will be offering a collection of show specials.
A significant new product that will be demonstrated at the show is a plug–in option exclusively for soundBlade. This signal processor, from a development partner who’s work is well respected in the professional community, combines four individual dynamic equalizers with a completely new, highly transparent processing algorithm and easy user interface.
For shops that must run 24/7, Sonic Studio will be introducing StudioCare, insurance packages that provide extended service and support for their hardware and software products. The Sonic State news and video crew will, of course, be attending AES to bring you the latest from all manufacturers.
