Motif specialists Keyfax NewMedia have released a brand new tutorial DVD for the Yamaha MO 6 & MO 8 entitled Go MO!
Running at over 1 1/2 hours Go MO! uses real people and real applications as its basis, combining simple step-by-step instruction with a modern visual approach.
Filmed at Keyfax’s studios in Santa Cruz, California, scenes include Playing Live, Creating Music With The Sequencer, The Magic Of Arpeggios, Exploring Effects, and Things You Can Do With Your Computer.
Writer & producer Julian Colbeck told Sonicstate, “Although the MO’s draw heavily on the Motif and Motif ES instruments we made this video for people who don’t have a lot of prior experience with Yamaha synths. Everything is spelled out in plain English. We don’t use jargon. We also wanted to capture the fun of playing this instrument so there’s also plenty of good music and lively images.
In the DVD you can watch music being created both from scratch and using some of the classic MO arpeggios. There’s also a special scene on creative drum programming, plus a crucial expose on storing, saving, and loading data.
Being able to load data is particularly important since the music used in the DVD can be downloaded for free at the website listed below, allowing viewers to remix and interact with the Songs and Patterns they’ve seen being created.
Price and Availability
Go MO is priced at $34.95 More information and a short trailer at:
