EastWest Releases Hollywood Scoring Tools

US All-in-one scoring solution for transforming musical ideas into finished compositions      03/11/26

EastWest has announced the release of Hollywood Scoring Tools, an all-in-one scoring solution designed to help composers transform musical ideas into finished compositions with unprecedented speed and creative flexibility. To mark the launch, EastWest has also released a special walkthrough video showcasing the tools and their creative possibilities. Here's the details direct from the company...

The walk-through video features live performances, scoring examples against picture, and ways to customize the music, and shows
    •    orchestral, hybrid, rock, acoustic, horror, and animation-inspired Scores
    •    how to switch between Intro, Main A, Main B, and Outro Arrangements using keyswitches
    •    how to use the mod wheel to control dynamics and bring musical layers in and out
    •    browse by genre and style, and hear audio previews before loading a Score
    •    swap instruments and customize patterns, note order, rate, octave range, and repeats
    •    expand a Score with individual playable instruments, including a demonstration with added strings, dizi and choir.

Hollywood Scoring Tools is built on Scores, compositions from 9 professional composers - not algorithms - that are already balanced and performance-ready. With 320+ composer-crafted Scores and over 1300+ Arrangements in 14 different genres and 12 different Styles, built from 160+ instruments from EastWest and Sonuscore, from 5 different worlds: Orchestral, Synths, Band, World, Choir & Percussion.

Developed in partnership with Sonuscore, Hollywood Scoring Tools features orchestral layers and synth textures, performance controls, dynamics, effects, and instrument combinations. Every element was selected with musical purpose. These are not random sound combinations but purpose-built scoring tools created by composers who understand the demands of deadlines, storytelling, emotion, and professional production.

Users can customize any Score and Arrangement to make them their own, or build one from scratch. They can swap out the instrument in any slot, change its pattern, set its min and max dynamics, and use the mod wheel to change the dynamics and bring more instruments in. Virtually anything can be changed, giving users complete creative freedom. Once they're happy with the result, they can save it as a User Score and start building their own personal collection.

For working composers in the industry dealing with tight deadlines, these Scores provide an invaluable source of inspiration and a powerful starting point for creating music quickly. Each Score comes already arranged and mixed which is a huge time saver, but it can also be modified at any point.

Hollywood Scoring Tools gives composers immediate access to professionally crafted Scores across a broad range of cinematic styles, from Action, Sci-Fi, Horror to Documentary, Drama, Uplifting and anything in between.
