Kevin R. Brown Art has released a new Windows only 64bit VST3 softsynth called VQ3. The synth takes inspiration from the classic Ensoniq ESQ-1, with a number of interesting additions:
"As fab as the Ensoniq ESQ-1 was, one thing that I always found frustrating is that all three oscillators after being individually output-shaped with their own VCAs, all had to get sent to a single Low Pass filter.
So, the idea here is to utilize most of the overall structure of the Ensoniq (three oscillators, four freely-assignable EGs, three LFOs and a pair of dedicated mod inputs for most functions), but with the option of sending each oscillator to it's own filter; each of which can be individually modulated and stereo-panned. The filters themselves are also expanded to include a resonant high pass in series with the low pass, and can be switched to Korg-style Resonators.
Buncha' thanks to Rex Basterfield, for much of "what lies beneath" is based on his work on the Quilcom synth RazorBlade."
Windows only 32/64bit VST.

In discussion with Kevin, I found out that he created the VST synth using Flowstone; a graphical programming language. Flowstone was new to me - so I did a little research and found https://flowstoners.com - an absolute treasure trove of really interesting plugins authored in the language.
Alas they're Windows only, but most of us have an XP or Win7-10 laptop knocking around! Time for me to grab some new plugins...

Please note, as always; care should be taken when downloading and installing software from the internet.
