MusicChina26: Soma Pulsar-23 Patching Tips

Tim Kroker - drummer from Front 242 made us a patch to demonstrate some ideas to try on the Pulsar-23 the unique drum machine from Soma. Its been around for some time but the semi modular nature of its architecture means the possibilities are pretty endless.

Pulsar-23 includes four main instruments: bass drum, bass, snare and hi-hat, but its routing and utilities allow those sources to move way beyond standard drum roles.

For instance, Tim routed the bass drum into a short, Karplus style delay, then delay-time modulation creates pitched bass movement.

Well worth a watch.
