MusicChina26: Genelec: Room Correction + Head Tracking & More

We spoke to Henri from Genelec about the Smart Active Monitoring system at Music China 2026, with the 8330 and 8341 monitors, 7350 subwoofer, 9320 controller, GLM calibration software and PRM headphone system.

The setup covers home studio, studio, hi-fi and immersive monitoring use. The 8330 is a familiar two-way model, while the 8341 is a three-way point-source monitor. The 7350 subwoofer works within the same system, and the 9320 controller includes AES/EBU digital output, analogue outputs, USB audio and headphone monitoring.

GLM calibrates the monitors and subwoofer to the room using a measurement microphone at the listening position. It measures each speaker, handles sub calibration, adjusts phase and applies delays. Profiles can live in the speakers or run under software control.

The controller switches between speaker sets, sub-assisted bass management and headphones. The system includes low-latency and mixing modes, and the PRM headphones add head tracking and binaural emulation of immersive setups. The PRM system is available now.
