Celemony has expanded their Tonalic library. They tell us that Arianna Powell, who has worked with Olivia Rodrigo and Halsey, provides music makers with catchy guitar parts for Tonalic, from semi-hollow electric to rubber-bridge acoustic. Here's the details in their own words...
Starting today, the Tonalic library includes guitarist Arianna Powell, whose playing ranges from fresh rock guitars and Americana to nylon-string pop and jazz-tinged parts. Alongside classic electric and acoustic guitars, Arianna plays semi-hollow and baritone models. She also brings a sound that has not been available in Tonalic before: a rubber-bridge acoustic played through an amp, with the short, muted "plonk" these guitars are known for. Her parts feel as much at home in singer-songwriter and indie productions as over a hip-hop beat.
Arianna Powell is a Los Angeles-based touring and session guitarist and songwriter. She has worked with Olivia Rodrigo, Halsey, Nick Jonas and the Black Eyed Peas, and contributed guitar to Chappell Roan's "Coffee" and Olivia Rodrigo's "honeybee". She grew up in Pennsylvania and studied jazz guitar at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. In 2025, she was named one of Guitar World magazine's "Guitarists of the Year", and she was featured in Guitar Player magazine's May 2017 cover story, "50 Sensational Female Guitarists". Her recordings, with their numerous variations, transitions, and endings, are a genuine enrichment for the Tonalic library.
"Arianna doesn't come to the studio to record as much as possible, but to develop beautiful instrumental parts that stand on their own," says Uwe Bossert, Tonalic's Musical Director, who produced her recordings. "She uses her technique to compose, never to show off. And she knows that the right gear at the right moment can make all the difference: when a session gets stuck, she pulls a 'one-trick pony' out of her bag – a piece of gear that does exactly one thing – and the problem is solved."
For subscribers and prepaid license customers, the new performances load automatically the next time they launch Tonalic, with no additional action required. New customers always start with the latest library. Tonalic is available as a monthly or annual subscription at tonalic.com, currently with a $1/€1 introductory offer for the first month. Prepaid licenses with no subscription commitment (for one month or one year) are available through music dealers.
