The first Haken Audio Continuum Competition has been launched. The prizes are aSlim70 Continuum, a Slim46 Continuum, and a Slim21 Continuum. Here's the details in the company's own words...
To enter, contestants will post a video performance on YouTube showing off a unique
playing technique that they developed themselves and mastered on their (non-
Continuum) instrument. Then they will post a 2nd video explaining how they developed
their unique personal technique and what it took for them to master it. Both videos
should be 1 min or less, tag @HakenAudio, and have #ContinuumCompetition in the
title. And to make sure we see every submission, links to both videos should also be
emailed to josh@hakenaudio.comContinuum players are not eligible to enter. We will be accepting submissions from
ContinuuMini players. However, we won't be favoring any one particular instrument
over another. The competition will be 3 weeks long, and at the end of each week, we will feature our
favorite performances from that week on our YouTube channel (being featured does
not guarantee that you will be a finalist). Then at the end of the competition, we will
post a video where our 3 judges will review the top submissions and decide the
winners. Our judges will be Gregoire Blanc, Rob Schwimmer, and Josh Madoff.
This competition is not about trying to compare and judge musicians. We want to
shine a light on the amazing and talented musical pioneers out there who have dared
to create something completely unique with their technique and really taken the time
and dedication to master it. And the winners are not a judgment in any way about who
is a better musician. It will be based on who the judges think will be the best fit for
learning and mastering the Continuum. The official rules can be found here.
