Roland Boutique JUPITER-08 More Voices and Control

US Longer faders, up to 32 voices      20/10/26

Andy from Roland came down to show us the JUPITER-08, which is a new Boutique-format take on the legendary Jupiter-8 - this time with enough polyphony to play those massive pads its known for with two parts with more to spare. This year is Jupiter-8's 45th anniversary in 2026, and positioned it as a return to the format after the earlier JP-08 but with a larger (and most welcome) control surface - they removed the mod strips to make more room.

The JUPITER-08 is a compact hardware synth using Roland's Analog Behavior Modeling, the same modelling approach used in Jupiter-X and Fantom EX. It has eight voices in original mode, with split and dual operation retaining eight voices per side. An advanced mode increases polyphony to up to 32 voices. The unit includes the custom K-25m keyboard case with silver side panels, and longer front-panel faders - which makesall the difference.

It includes the original Jupiter-8 presets, with 240 patches in total. The oscillators add 32-foot and 1-foot ranges, and both VCOs offer the full waveform selection. Extra parameters include expanded LFO and filter ranges, additional filter models, pitch variation, and a condition control that can introduce age-style behaviour including dead notes. Effects include global delay and reverb with shimmer, plus an MFX slot with 17 types including chorus, reverse delay, overdrive, fuzz, bit-crusher, lo-fi, compressor, phaser and multimode filter.

Theres also a 2 part 64 step sequencer with parameter recording - as far as we know as many as you can wiggle!

All controls send MIDI CC. Connectivity includes 5-pin MIDI I/O, stereo input, stereo output, headphones, USB-C power/audio, battery power and a built-in speaker. USB audio carries stereo output, upper part, lower part and external input on separate stereo tracks,  though you do need a Roland driver

Availability is described as shipping or imminent. RRP is £592 or €699 including the K-25m.
