Pete from Darkglass gave us a look at Anagram, the company's touchscreen multi-effects platform for bass, guitar and other instruments. Darkglass introduced the unit last year, and the conversation covered recent additions including a synthesizer block, Tone3000 captures, a new marketplace and expression pedal support.
Anagram combines amp models, overdrive, fuzz, EQ, compression, modulation, cabinets and utility blocks in a left-to-right preset chain. It supports up to 12 blocks, with a second line for parallel routing, sidechain-style setups or stereo output via XLRs or quarter-inch jacks. Cabinet options include bass and guitar IRs, with selectable mic placement.
The workflow centres on building and saving presets from the touchscreen, muting blocks, reordering effects and assigning parameters to a quick pot. The Darkglass Suite handles preset backup, downloads and MIDI footswitch assignments. Tone3000 integration adds free community captures of amps, pedals, cabinets and studio equipment.
Anagram also includes a tuner, looper, mixer, master EQ, six instrument input-gain profiles, USB, MIDI, headphones, Bluetooth playback and audio-interface operation.
It is available now for $1199 US.
