Roland's MV-30 Emulated & Running in MAME

US Roland's 1990 Music Studio      16/10/26

Roland put their PCM sampling tech into all sorts of 90's boxes - from the guitar oriented BOSS DR-5 drum machine, to flagship keyboards like the Roland D-70. It therefore wasn't too surprising to see their RS-PCM tech bundled into a desktop box with a robust sequencer - the MV-30. Anyhow, you can now play with the nostalgic tones of the MV-30 from the comfort of your laptop. Apparently, the team behind this new MAME emulation recreated the PCM playback, TVF and RCC (chorus/reverb effect) chips from pictures of the original silicon, wild! Let's finish on another MV-30 video, this time showing off the 1990 unit as a master MIDI sequencer!
