Brooklyn Synth & Pedal Expo October 17-18

US Headphones-only demoing, 100+ brands      09/10/26

Brooklyn Synth & Pedal Expo is back in Greenpoint, Brooklyn on October 17-18, taking over a 7,000-square-foot warehouse with more than 100 brands showing synths, pedals and modular gear. The show is staged with Three Wave Music, the long-running New York synth store, and Tonewolf, a local guitar shop, and is expected to draw around 2,000 musicians, producers and gear obsessives. An Sonicstate will be there to cover it!

What separates it from a conventional trade show is the format: everything is demoed in headphones. No blaring PA, no fighting the booth next door. Founder Paolo De Gregorio puts it plainly: "This is an event built for discovery. The headphone format creates a respectful space where you can truly hear the nuances of a boutique pedal or get lost in a massive modular patch - without the noise of a typical convention. It's a focused, community-driven experience."

New this year are "Intro to Synthesis" workshops - hands-on patch-building sessions and deep dives into modular workflows, led by working artists and builders. A full schedule is promised soon, so worth checking before you plan the weekend.

The exhibitor list reads like a who's who of the current pedal and synth boom. On the pedal side: Chase Bliss, Strymon, ZVEX, Death By Audio, Electro-Harmonix, Meris, Red Panda, Vongon, Fairfield Circuitry, JAM pedals, Rainger FX, Benson Amps, Neural DSP, BOSS, MXR and Dunlop, plus a used-pedal table from Pedals to Metal.

On the synth side: Buchla, Sequential, Elektron, Korg, Roland, Arturia, Novation, Dreadbox, Expressive E, Melbourne Instruments, Groove Synthesis, 1010 Music, Soma, Eventide, Synclavier, Bitwig, ASM, Oxi Instruments and Telepathic Instruments among many others, with a rack of Eurorack modules supplied by Three Wave Music.

Tickets are cheap enough to make a weekend of it: early-bird 2x1 passes are $5 each while they last, and minors get in free.

Sonicstate will be at the show covering it, so watch out for videos from the floor. If you are there in person, come and say hi.
