Arturia has announced the AudioFuse Studio Rev2, an updated version of its desktop audio interface. The changes centre on the preamps and the Bluetooth module, with the rest of the unit's connectivity carried over in a sturdy metal desktop chassis.
Preamps - four DiscretePRO mic/instrument/line inputs with dedicated hands-on controls, quoted at -129dBu equivalent input noise, 119dB dynamic range and up to 72dB of gain to drive quiet ribbon mics. Each unit ships with its own individual audio performance certificate.
Conversion - 24-bit AD/DA converters running at up to 192kHz.
Connectivity - 18 inputs and 20 outputs in total, built on 8 analog inputs: 4 mic/line/instrument and 4 line, of which inputs 5-6 can be switched to a phono RIAA stage for vinyl. There are 4 analog inserts on channels 1-4, 4 line outputs, and 2 Aux outputs that can feed guitar re-amping at instrument level. Digital connections cover 8 channels of ADAT up to 96kHz, S/PDIF or Word Clock input and output/thru on Cinch RCA, plus MIDI and USB-C (USB 2.0 compatible, with a built-in multi-port hub).
Monitoring - two pairs of balanced TRS speaker outputs, and two independent stereo headphone outputs on both 6.35mm and 3.5mm jacks, each with its own source selection, level control and metering. Internal mixers handle direct monitoring at low latency.
Wireless - the upgraded Bluetooth receiver supports aptX, aptX HD, aptX Low Latency and AAC.
The interface ships with the AudioFuse Creative Suite: Analog Lab Intro, the Pre 1973, Pre V76 and Pre TridA preamp models, Comp FET-76 and Comp DIODE-609 compressors, Delay TAPE-201, Filter MINI, Rev PLATE-140, Chorus JUN-6 and Phaser BI-TRON.
Existing owners get the new AudioFuse Control Center 2.5.0 which adds preset import and export across all AudioFuse devices, and AudioFuse Studio owners on both the original and Rev2 get new clock management, enhanced output routing and improved monitoring with digital speaker support.
