3D Design Print Your Own Synth Stands With Loopop

US Web app for your custom stands      18/07/26

Loopop has added to his ever expanding collection of applications and widgets, with a new web based app for designing, customizing and 3D printing desktop stands.
Its a nifty idea and gives you a web UI for taking a selection of models suitable for pedals, desktop synths, effects and whatnot.

You can drag various sliders and parameters to create your own 3D custom design that can be exported and printed - if you have your own 3D printer or a friend/service.

Obviously a lot of thought has gone into it with practical limitations baked into the application so you can make something physically impossible or that might be inadvisable.

There are also ways to create larger items by joining together individual elements with slot together dovetails and the like.
Its obviously a lot of work and for time being is free, and its in Beta so treat it as such.
Some things to consider:
Larger stands can take up to a day to print and require larger amounts of filament
If you are new to 3D printing, be aware that things can go awry and may use more filament than initially thought.
Suitable printers are in between $299-700+ range that will handle multiple colours and larger sizes.

Here are the main features:

  • Template library with various modifiable starting points
  • Adjustable synth depth, angle, width, cheek thickness, base height, lip length and lip offset.
  • Optional connecting rear stand with independent dimensions and angle.
  • Tray, pedalboard and multi-structure "Mega Tray" modes to create infinitely wide trays.
  • Automatically generated side cheeks, middle cheeks, beams, trays and connector parts.
  • Single-beam, split dovetail and middle-cheek solutions for beams longer than the print bed.
  • Custom infill patterns including waves, curves, hexagons, and user-supplied SVG artwork.
  • Optional tray debossing, repeating SVG patterns and cable passthrough slots.
  • Automatic plate packing, part rotation and multi-plate export.
  • Joint-fit test generation for printer calibration and filament use estimates.
  • Unique IDs printed in hidden locations in the part to help users locate the source file
  • 3D previews of assembled stand (with configurable choice of coffee!)
  • There will always be a free version; perhaps paid features will be added in the future, but not in the short term.
