UVI Rumble - Multi-Band Bass Synth - A First

US One synth per band - a new approach      11/06/26

UVI's new Rumble instrument tackles bass sound design by dividing the frequency spectrum into three separately synthesized bands, each running its own oscillators, filters, and effects before they converge at a shared output stage.
The three-band architecture is the thing to pay attention to here. Most bass synths treat the sound as a single object and let you shape it with EQ and compression after the fact. Rumble bakes that spectral thinking into the synthesis stage itself - you're not just EQing a sound, you're building different sounds in different frequency bands and blending them.

We've tried it and can confirm its pretty neat, dragging the crossover point for each band can drastically change it - as well as setting the gain for each. It is like messing with a multi-band compressor!

Features

  • Three frequency-based engines: Body (sub/low end), Character (mids/harmonics), Air (top end/articulation) - each a full synth engine running in parallel
  • 9 oscillator models: virtual analog, wavetable, PD, FM, drum, vocal formant, wavefolding, and more
  • 6 filter circuits including vintage lowpass, multi-resonant designs, phaser/flanger hybrids, and a formant/vowel filter
  • 10 effect chains per band, each with a feedback loop for self-resonating processing; includes cabinet sim, reverb, delay, transient compression, distortion, and spectral tools
  • 33 modulation sources: 16 DAW-automatable macros, 4 LFOs with a complex-source mixer, 2 x 128-point MSEGs, 3 chaotic random generators, plus a full mod matrix
  • 500 factory presets built by working sound designers and genre producers
  • VST3, AU, AAX, standalone (64-bit), NKS compatible; authorises on up to 3 computers or iLok keys
