Softube Releases Bus Processor 670

Softube has announced the release of Bus Processor 670. Here's their press statement...

The makers of the popular Bus Processor plug-in have taken up the challenge of finding where the magic of the mythological 670 hardware lies and distilling it. The outcome of that effort is the all-new Bus Processor 670, a modern take on the legendary dual-channel variable-mu tube compressor. It delivers the unmistakable weight, warmth, and authority of the original with a flexible, state-of-the-art workflow.

The original hardware is rare, sought-after, and expensive. Fewer than a thousand were made but its characteristic sound has been heard on records from Motown to Abbey Road. Softube has taken the finest elements of the 670 and added it-would-be-cool-if ideas to create a unique tone machine capable of the musical and harmonically rich compression of the original. All while pushing the envelope to bring it into the now and take the guesswork out of the workflow.

With Bus Processor 670, Softube has added full control of saturation points with dedicated knobs for tube and transformer saturation and a calibration knob to influence the unique compression-dependent saturation of the variable-mu architecture. Softube also included sidechain options that give the user control over filters, tone shift and mono/stereo linking, as well as separate outputs for M/S channels. New spatialization features include an air band, mono maker, and a stereo widening knob.

Full-featured but dead-simple to use, Bus Processor 670 lets users find the magical sound of the 670 for themselves, in a workflow that works for the modern music maker.
