Modular For Beginners Course at Schneiders Keller London

Former modular specialist for Sonicstate Edd is now at the helm of Schneiders Keller in Denmark Street - the heart of London. He's been in touch to let us know about a new Modular For Beginners course they are running every Monday in July from 6-8pm. The store is located in the basement of Rough Trade Records and  remains the only dedicated space in London where people can learn directly on real, physical hardware. Led by expert educator and synthesist William Stokes, the course is designed to strip away the
intimidation of "the wall of cables" and replace it with creative confidence.
This course focuses on musical outcomes.
Participants will dive deep into:

•  Sound Physics: Understanding waveforms and the fundamentals of audio.
•  Core Modules: Mastering Oscillators, Filters, VCAs, and Envelopes.
•  Voltage Logic: Learning the "language" of modular via Control Voltage (CV), Gates, and Triggers.
•  Patch Building: Constructing a complete, unique synth voice from scratch.
•  Hardware Skills: Gaining physical proficiency with industry-standard gear.

The course is specifically tailored for complete beginners. No prior experience with synthesis or music theory is required, and all equipment is provided on-site.

The program also integrates VCV Rack training, ensuring students can continue their
practice at home using hybrid digital-analog workflows.

Our goal is to give people the tools to stop clicking presets and start building their own sonic worlds with intention and clarity.
