Superbooth 2026: Din Sync R-101 Synthesizer

US Latest iteration of the classic Roland monosynth from Din Sync      08/05/26

We spoke to Paul from Din Sync at the Superbooth 2026 where he discussed the R-101 Synthesizer the company's latest iteration of the iconic SH-101 in a rack-mounted format. The R-101 stands out by retaining the authentic circuits of the original while introducing a more compact design, which addresses past construction limitations. Key enhancements include the use of Analogue Renaissance components like the VCF and BA-662 VCA, delivering improved audio quality with reduced DC offset and noise.

The R-101 features all the classic SH-101 connections, MIDI capabilities, and a built-in sequencer driven by the Goblin CPU. Paul mentioned potential for adding Eurorack mods and additional jacks. While specific pricing and release dates remain unconfirmed, the instrument is set to become available by the year's end. The R-101 promises to deliver vintage authenticity for both studio and live settings to critical listeners seeking analog sound fidelity.
