Body Synths are back with a new piece of hardware - their follow up to the incendiary Metal Fetishist will be previewed at Superbooth this year! Laboratory is a dual-channel effects processor & feedback synth developed in collaboration with Andrey from the Berlin-based pedal company akkusativ. Get your hands on it in Berlin on 7-9th of May (we'll be there!) and find all the details with images below:

Body Synths announces the Laboratory, their second instrument and the follow-up to the Metal Fetishist. The Laboratory is a dual-channel effects processor and feedback synthesizer with four feedback paths. The device is capable of generating stereo feedback sounds from subtle drones to full-on harsh noise--even without an external input.
Each channel features voltage-controlled Gain, Delay, and Resonant Filter for processing either internal feedback or external signals. The Filter offers Low-Pass and High-Pass modes. The channels can be chained in series to create a Band-Pass filter. Using both channels together also opens up multi-tap and ping-pong echoes. A clipping stage at the end of each channel adds compression and distortion when driven hard enough.

The two channels can be combined with a Modulator that can act as either an LFO or an Envelope. This adds motion across the system, enabling effects such as tremolo, vibrato, chorus, stereo filter sweeps, modulated delays, and beyond.
At the core of the Laboratory are four feedback paths. Signals can be routed through them to get delay repeats, add grit and texture, or push the system into self-oscillation. With two independent channels, it generates stereo feedback noise--a rarity among feedback and experimental noise instruments.

The Body Synths Laboratory is being developed in collaboration with Andrey from the Berlin-based pedal company akkusativ. The instrument will be previewed at Superbooth 2026 in Berlin on May 7–9.Release: 2026
