NAGUAL: Mexican Ceremonial Instruments

US MNTRAs polyphonic plugin with Ramiro Ramírez      26/02/26

MNTRA have unveiled their latest explorative instrument, taking inspiration from the ceremonial instruments of Mexico - with the collection and expertise of Ramiro Ramírez. Following months of cultural explorations and detailed recording sessions, the MNTRA team have encapsulated the spirit of these unique instruments into a playable polyphonic instrument, recorded at ultrasonically at 384 kHz, 32 bit. Here's more..

Nagual is a reactive polyphonic instrument built from rare Pre-Hispanic ceremonial sources. Collaborating with Ramiro Ramírez, one of Mexico's most revered musicians in these traditions, we captured clay flutes, conch trumpets, wooden drums, ocarinas, and ritual whistles, then transmuted them into a living instrument where sources merge, morph, and respond to your touch in real time. Sources originally limited to single tones--now reactive, blendable, and fully performable.
