Baby Audio Tekno V1.1 Adds Sequencer

US And other enhancements in Free update      08/01/26

Baby Audio have been getting some user feedback since Tekno  - the 18 engine drum synthesizer plug-in was first introduced and today have announced a v1.1 update which adds a sequencer to the feature lists (it was one of the most requested features)

Sequencer features:

  • Input trigs and adjust velocity dynamically while retaining control over the selected drum voice parameters.
  • Step input with option-click to fill steps up to the selected point.
  • Randomization options for each lane or the entire sequence using dice icons; holding option deepens randomization.
  • Speed control: double or halve tempo on individual lanes or all lanes simultaneously.
  • Chance controller introduces probabilistic step playback, adding variability and groove.
  • Polyrythm creation by shortening lanes with a stop icon.
  • Drag-and-drop export of sequences as MIDI files for DAW integration.
  • Swing function to add groove and feel.
  • Sync modes:
    • D mode syncs with DAW tempo.
    • Free mode operates independently.
    • Sequencer can be turned off to trigger Techno via external MIDI.
  • Choke Groups
Techno now supports four choke groups, enabling only one sound to play at a time within each group, mimicking acoustic drum behaviour:

    • Classic use case: open and closed hi-hats in the same choke group to cut off one another naturally.
    • Can also limit decay interactions between sounds like kick and snare.
  • Customizable MIDI Configuration
Users can freely reassign MIDI controls:

    • Tap MIDI icon to enter config mode.
    • Use pencil icon to enable MIDI learn on pads.
    • Save and recall custom MIDI mappings via drop-down menu.
  • Humanize and Calibration

    • Adjustable humanize settings per voice, controlling sensitivity to global randomization and timing variations.
    • Synth voice calibration enables precise tuning of this effect per drum sound.
  • Export and Audio Routing Enhancements

    • Batch export of all drum sounds at once by dragging the export kit option into an audio track.
    • Reverb return can now be routed to a dedicated output bus.
  • Improved Randomizer Controls

    • Individual drum voices can be excluded from the global randomizer by locking them.
  • Workflow and Usability Enhancements

    • Copy-paste settings between paired instruments (e.g., high and low congas or toms) via right-click.
    • Option to disable Techno's animations for less distraction.
    • Global undo and redo buttons provide better editing control.
  • Platform Expansion

    • Techno 1.1 will also be available as AuV3 for iOS and iPadOS,

Baby Audio Tekno v1.1 is available as a free update to existing users and is $129 MSRP with a $79 intro sale.
