Deltron 3030 Anniversary

US Millennium LP celebrates 25 years      15/12/25

Deltron 3030, for those who know, is a cult classic album, featuring the talents of Dan the Automator, rapper Del the Funky Homosapien and DJ Kid Koala - each as their futuristic pseudonym, alongside some close collaborators. A perfect fusion of futuristic sci-fi, the album explores themes which are very much relevant today - technological advancement which humanity is adapting to, and the results of a more computerized society. The album is celebrating 25 years and (as is now customary) is being re-released - the video will tell you all you need to know. Find out more here

Here's more from the vid...

Dive into the making of the classic hip-hop record Deltron 3030, with the artists who brought it to life. Featuring Dan the Automator, Del the Funky Homosapien, Kid Koala with appearances by Randall Park, Zane Lowe, and Damian "Domino" Siguenza, you'll hear a first-person account of creating this one-of-a-kind record. An allegory for the French Revolution? A sci-fi cornucopia of 20th century influences? Or just some talented people with diverse reference points and deep intuition? All of the above? Peep it.

Deltron 3030:

The supergroup Deltron 3030 is composed of producer Dan the Automator, rapper Del the Funky Homosapien, and DJ Kid Koala, and sometimes features guest artists who also adopt varying futuristic pseudonyms. Initially released in 2000 on the now-defunct 75ARK record label, this hip-hop concept album was released the same year as Gorillaz's first 12" and is on a similar plane. Following the release of Deltron 3030, all three members participated in the Gorillaz' self-titled debut album.

With Del aka Deltron Zero on vocals, Dan the Automator aka The Cantankerous Captain Aptos on production, and Kid Koala aka Skiznoid the Boy Wonder on turntables, this album takes the listener on a paranoid journey set in a dystopian year 3030 dealing with viruses, the apocalypse, an oppressive government, and a war waged against a huge company called the Corporate Bank of Time that rules the universe, all to the well-crafted and consistent musical backing of the Automator.

Appearances by Damon Albarn (Gorillaz, Blur), Prince Paul, Peanut Butter Wolf, Money Mark, Paul Barman, Mark Bell (Bjork, production), Sean Lennon, and Mr Lif complement Del's vocal style and add the right amount of flavor to this classic period piece.

To commemorate the 25th Anniversary, the album is being reissued as a Limited Edition Deluxe 4xLP Box Set.  The box set is packaged in a 12.5" x 12.5" 50-page hardbound book containing the album and all the instrumentals across four smoke-colored LPs. The 50-page book contains artwork, lyrics, and liner notes by Hanif Abdurraqib.
