TX81Z: MAME Emulation vs The Hardware
US Yamaha's 4-OP FM classic tested 12/12/25MAME may be familiar to you as a platform for playing old arcade games (if you didn't know about that, it's a whole world to explore), but it will also emulate Synths! Here we have a showdown between the MAME emulation and the original 19" rackmount version of the Yamaha TX81Z. There are some reasonably significant differences (especially the aliasing) but as MAME and its emulations are developed they're sure to get even closer.
