WMD tells us that, after years of anticipation, development, and refinement, they have announced the release of Clutch, a dual-layer digital hi hat module that brings expressive, performance-ready hi hat grooves to the Eurorack format. Here's the details in their own words...
A New Take on the sample player
At its core, Clutch is a dual sample player designed specifically for hi hats and percussive layering. With two independent sample surfaces, users can blend dependable "bread-and-butter" hits with a massive library of sounds hosted on an SD card.Layer A is fully CV-controllable, opening the door to modulation-heavy, evolving rhythms. Layer B stays steady. A solid foundation that keeps the groove anchored no matter how wild your patching gets.
A CV Disable switch allows instant return to baseline settings, while onboard effects and a Chimera-inspired "Feel" control give users the ability to craft more human-like playing with velocity, attack, and release parameter sequences from triggers.
Clutch has been in development for several years, originally planned for release under a new company name, AMMT. As time went on, we decided not to move forward with the AMMT brand and instead release the module under WMD. The AMMT logo remains on the module as an homage to the team that crafted it.
