Bristronica 25: Half-Time Modular 8TR

We had a chat with Lucas from Halftime Modular, who introduced us to the 8TR, an 8-channel multi-track recorder designed for Eurorack systems. This straightforward unit uses an SD card while offering 24-bit, 48kHz audio recording, aiming to avoid CV or trigger signals for pure audio capture.

By connecting two ATR units via a proprietary connector, you can chain multiple channels. Additionally, its 4HP size makes it a compact choice, while an optional 2HP expander provides track copies and trigger inputs.

Lucas also gave us a look at the prototype Humanizer module. Inspired by acoustic instrument imperfections, Humanizer generates slight pitch deviations to add character to electronic sequences. Its functions offer glide, transients, bend effects, and vibrato, increasing realism and depth in sound design.

Both the 8TR and Humanizer are still in development, with the 8TR expected for release soon.
