We spoke to Francois from Shakmat, who gave us a look at the company's ever-expanding lineup, spotlighting the Lancer's Lash and Ballista Blast modules showcased at this year's event. The Lancer's Lash is a snare drum synthesizer offering a range of sound design possibilities with digital engines like analog emulation, blend, physical modelling, FM, and a granular model. It includes parameters for decay, pitch, timbre, and harmonic content, with an FX section for compression and distortion. Additionally, a randomizer function allows for varied, humanized snare sounds.
The Ballista Blast is a versatile hybrid digital/analog synth voice with various engine types, including classic, wavetable, and FM. It features digital VCO with analog filters and distortion, allowing for wide tonal manipulation. Supported by a new Ballista Blast Expander, it provides additional modulation capabilities. Both products are set for release in September, completing Shakmat's comprehensive range of modules.
