We had a chat with Dan from Beatboxer who showed us the Mosaik Drum Machine at Superbooth 2025. Designed for live stage performance, Mosaik enables you to pre-listen to samples via headphones and get a beat going quickly. With the philosophy of starting from scratch, it allows no preparation, focusing on spontaneity during performances. The machine uses samples, with future plans for synthesizer integration. Mosaik features a 64-step sequencer where each track can load samples with customizable parameters. Currently, the Mosaik does not save patterns, emphasizing developing beats on the spot.
The drum machine supports both individual and stereo outputs, allowing track exports in FLAC format. Up to 36 sounds can be played simultaneously, powered by a robust processor ensuring no live glitches. Although not available yet, the Mosaik will be purchasable starting August 2025, retailing at $2800.
