Orange Tree Samples Releases Rosewood Grand

US Virtual piano powered by Native Instruments' Kontakt Player      23/12/24

Orange Tree Samples tells us that Rosewood Grand pairs the sound of a rich, vibrant Yamaha C7 grand piano with innovative technology for an incredible tone and a realistic, immersive playing experience. Here's more details direct from the company...

Among its features, the instrument includes duration-dependent release samples, hammer mechanics, and sympathetic resonance. Pressing the damper pedal engages special damper ambience samples. Due to how the strings freely resonate when the pedal is down, lifting the dampers off the strings, this adds a rich depth to the tone of the piano. Releasing the pedal mutes those resonances, narrowing and focusing its sound.

All together, these details make Rosewood Grand feel highly reactive and interactive to play.

Rosewood Grand includes four distinct sample sets to choose between:

  • Tuned: The main version, delivering the polished, pure tone of the C7 grand piano.
  • Bloom: The piano's unisons were subtly detuned, introducing more motion in each note's sustain.
  • Felt: A layer of felt was positioned between hammers and strings, softening the piano's attack and giving it a warm, bell-like sustain.
  • Classic: Access the sound of the original Rosewood Grand library, updated with the new engine's capabilities.

Rosewood Grand is capable of a wide range of piano tones and styles, whether you need a pristine pop sound, hard-hitting rock rhythms, organic jazz, or moody cinematic tones.

Key features:

  • Four piano sample sets to choose between: tuned, bloom, felt, and classic.
  • Large collection of production-ready factory presets, covering everything from a polished pop sound to a raw, organic jazz tone, and vibrant/elegant classical piano tones.
  • Quickly mix between multiple mic positions with the convenient blend pad.
