Knobcon 24: Melbourne Instruments Delia

US With Mike from Voltage & Company      11/09/24

At Knobcon 2024, we had the chance to catch up with Mike from Voltage and Company about the latest offering from Melbourne Instruments, the Delia synthesizer. Mike provided an in-depth look at the Delia, highlighting its hybrid nature in comparison to the Nina.

The Delia is bi-timbral and comes equipped with motorized potentiometers for parameter morphing. Unlike the Nina, which is four-part multitimbral, the Delia offers a different set of functionalities suitable for diverse sound design applications.

The demo included hands-on use of the morph function to blend two disparate sounds, illustrating how the Delia can be a versatile addition to any synthesist's toolkit. Mike also delved into the oscillators – two virtual analog, one wavetable, and a fourth for noise or external input – and reiterated the quality of the Delia's digital effects.

The Delia is available now at $2399.
