How Do Vocal Harmonies Work?

US Singing theory with David Bennett      27/08/24

David Bennett often deals with piano and keyboard progressions, but in this video he focuses on how vocal harmonies work. David explains that to the untrained ear vocal harmonies may seems like some kind of dark art, but in reality are quite simple - showing examples of singing in: Thirds, Sixths, Fifths, 3-part harmony, Oblique harmony, Unison, Double tracking and much more.

Some have a natural knack for singing vocal harmonies and backing vocals, but for those who don't let's today take a closer look at how harmonies actually work, what options we have for creating backing vocals for a song, and how some of these famous singers and groups put together their backing vocals.
