Ploytec GmbH, the German audio specialist who are perhaps better known for their tiny synth PL2 and Boom Kick pedal, has announced a Kickstarter campaign for its new USB audio format converter, the Ploytec Revival. This device aims to rejuvenate older DJ mixers by ensuring compatibility with the latest computer operating systems, including iOS, macOS, and Windows.
Many high-quality devices, such as mixing consoles, DJ decks, and controllers, often become obsolete when their USB protocols are no longer supported by new computers. The Ploytec Revival addresses this issue by providing a seamless connection, allowing these devices to function with modern systems.

The initial version of the Ploytec Revival will support DJ mixing consoles like the XONE:2D, XONE:4D, and XONE:DB4. Ploytec plans to expand compatibility to other USB protocol devices in the future, with updates available via USB.
Its a worthy project, if a little niche and the cost of a unit in the case may be prohibitive to some.
Rewards start at €189 for a bare board and €349 with a metal enclosure - expected Dec 2024
