NAMM 2023: New Drum Trigger Interface

ddrum has introduced the newly updated and expanded DDTi Drum Trigger Interface at the 2023 NAMM Show. They say that, like its predecessor, the next-generation DDTi is designed to replicate the natural feel of a drum performance, providing a simple way to convert percussion pads and drum triggers into MIDI. A spokesperson told us, "The DDTi now supports the latest software on the market and offers even more trigger and hi-hat settings. Whether users are looking to trigger drum sounds live or in the studio, the updated DDTi delivers an easy plug-and-play interface that expands percussive creativity."

Here's more, direct from ddrum...

The DDTi returns with the customizability and flexibility that users loved about the first model. Ten TRS trigger inputs accommodate single- or dual-zone triggers, and are velocity sensitive, triggering different sounds or samples depending on how hard or soft the pad is hit. The updated DDTi offers even more trigger settings and parameters, as well as additional hi-hat settings and adjustments for a wider range of hi-hat controllers. Users can therefore customize and fine-tune their playing experience to their personal preferences, and create a more dynamic and expressive performance.

No time is wasted when creative juices are flowing, as DDTi's easy user interface makes creating and editing user setups painless. Twenty programmable presets allow for quick storage and recall of setups. The DDTi's direct USB out provides plug-and-play compatibility, no software drivers needed, with the user's preferred virtual instruments on Mac or Windows PC. For optimal performance, the updated DDTi is compatible with the new Windows 10 and M1 Chip from Apple. Alternatively, the DDTi can also work as an input expander for live performance, by connecting to a MIDI-equipped sound module or synth.

Overall, the DDTi Drum Trigger Interface by ddrum is an excellent choice for drummers looking to elevate their sound and expand their creative horizons.
