US PikoPiko Factory are looking for funding for the Profree-4 open source hardware synthesizer      03/05/22

PikoPiko Factory, a Japanese instrument development team, has been steadily developing the Profree-4 open source hardware synthesizer since its development announcement in 2020. They say that, based on the voice circuitry of the Sequential Prophet-5, it features a mini-keyboard, keytar, MIDI on-board, battery-powered, and built-in speaker.

A spokesperson told us, "We will not keep the Profree-4 development results to ourselves. The technology of that great machine should be known and passed on to the world. After development, all technical information of Profree-4 will be provided under the 'Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0.International' license. This means that anyone can make, sell, and enjoy Profree-4."
