How The Korg ER-1 Became The Borg ER-2

The Korg-ER1 was released in the late 90s, with a metallic version following in the years after. It's modulation, effects, sequencing and intuitive controls made it very appealing - it was part of a range of groove-boxes Korg produced at that time also including a sampler and synth. In the article below, we hear from James William Fletcher, the developer of Borg ER-1 and Borg ER-2, a software incarnation of the ER-1. It's a fascinating insight into how the software came about and what it was like to develop:

It would not be until my final year of university that my learning had come to some culmination where I felt prepared to have another stab at the software Korg replica project, the Borg, and pushing some of my more important duties to one side I began working on the Borg ER-2.
