In the second day of Arturia releases -  as teased yesterday when they announced the MiniBrute 2, today we get yet another Brute in the form of the MiniBrute 2S - this has the same synth engine as the MiniBrute 2 - 2 Oscillators, Steiner Parker Filter, 2 LFOs, 2 envelopes and patchbay but without the keyboard - funnily enough, comments on yesterday's release indicated that people wanted a keyboard only version.

The MiniBrute 2S also has a more advanced step sequencer, somewhat similar looking to the DrumBrute with pattern chaining and song construction, but with multiple sequencer types:

  • LFO
  • ENV
  • GATE
  • 1V,2V,5V,8V
  • PITCH
Arturia LinkSo using Mod 1 or Mod 2 on the Sequencer edition, users can create function generators of their choice – an additional LFO, an Envelope Generator, Pitches, Gates, Stepped Voltage sources, and sequence these per-step.
MiniBrute 2S also features the Arturia Link, which is a mounting and stand system for connecting Arturia Link equipped devices together for a more ergonomic setups - presumably we will see these units bolted together in due course.
MiniBrute 2S is expected to ship March 2018 priced at £599 - which is actually the same price as the MiniBrute 2.
