A completely new category for Roland, entering the DJ market with a bit of a bang - their new DJ808 sees a collaboration with DJ software specialists Serato to bring us a 4 channel DJ mixer with on board TR-08 derived pattern drum machine, beat synced, VT class vocal processing and MX-1 style USB inputs for hooking up more of the AIRA range via AIRA Link.

With replaceable cross-fader, variable fader curves and twin, low latency platters, its going to offer the DJ or live producer a lot of features. Expected October, at a price of 1499 Euros.

What is most interesting is that this is blurring the lines between DJ and live production, there's nothing to stop you running your own tracks or stems into this and using it as the hub of a live setup.
