The word Moog has become enshrined in the English language as another word for synthesizer, in the same way that Hoover owned the vaccum cleaner market, but you know, more synthy.

We asked them to send us some shots of their workspaces at their Ashville HQ, where they put together all their US produced models - indeed we know they take care of their workforce - you may recall they recently announced a workers share option to give CEO Mike Adams an exit plan over the next 5 years.

Here goes..

Station 2 on the Sub 37 line, Erika preps 671 & 672 PCBs for installation.  After passing a quality inspection of their componentry, the boards are J-tagged with a communication firmware in preparation of receiving the boot loader and then mounted to the front-panel where the control knobs are installed.

Gary's workspace is desgined from a modular perspective allowing him to buid Minifoogers, Moogerfoogers, Theremins, and Thereminis from the same bench.

Nick, reworking the lighted slide switches in the CP3A module for the System 35. Moog Modular Synthesizers are built using the same processes as their vintage counter-parts, and each module is populated and soldered by hand.

Every Moog instrument needing warranty service in the U.S. comes through this room inside the Moog Factory where it receives a full top-to-bottom inspection from Moog's in-house service techs.  Nick is preparing a freshly serviced Electric Blue Minimoog Voyager for return to its owner.
