Effects Plug-In With Modular Architecture

Exponential Audio has announced Excalibur, which they describe as a plugin that sets a new standard for effects processing. They say that, combining delay, flanger, pitch, distortion and more into a powerful modular architecture, Excalibur gives you millions of combinations.

A spokesperson had this to say, "Excalibur is the most powerful and flexible effects plug-in you can find. During development our testers and previewers have honoured us by comparing Excalibur to many classic studio effects units, we'll let you decide which ones when you hear it. We think emulation is nice, but we wanted to take that and build on it, adding all the things you could have never have done with the original hardware units.

Imagine a multi-effects unit that works like a modular synth and you're starting to get close to the heart of Excalibur. Its modular architecture allows you to assemble millions of effects, configured in ways you've only been able to imagine."
