MESSE 2014: Josephson Engineering Microphones

US Kelly takes us through these high end mics      13/03/14

It's fair to say that Josephson Engineering is a company with a longer-established presence in the USA that here in Europe, but Kelly Q. Kay did his best to encompass that pedigree in high-end microphone and audio engineering in his fulsome piece to camera for us here at Messe 2014.
So grab a coffee (or a nice cuppa tea ;-) take a seat, and take notes, for there'll be a test in the morning, as he whizzes through a masterclass in the characteristics of single & double large diaphragm capsule designs; side-address super high dynamic range variants; reflection-less metal foam dip-braised baskets and Metglass-core Lundahl transformers.

So if you want to know why some vocalists prefer the enhanced proximity effects of a single-diaphragm capsule transformer design over a doube capsule solid-state version... watch and enjoy!
