American R&B singer Erykah Badu has figured out how to get 1.6 million views on YouTube for just $500.
But it involves getting naked.
Badu's low-budget video for her song Window Seat, above, was designed to generate controversy. It features Badu stripping while she walks through the area of Dallas, Texas where JFK was shot.
According to Badu, the video is a protest against “groupthink” and said was inspired by Matt and Kim's music video Lessons Learned.
While Badu characterizes the video as performance art, Dallas considers it "disorderly conduct", and has fined her $500 and put her on probation.
"I knew it was a shocking thing that I did," says Badu. "So I did expect some kinda dialogue about it. That’s the point of performance art. There is going to be some kinda dialogue."
